Shark Steam Pocket Mop S3501 Review

Shark Steam Pocket Mop S3501 Review

Rating: 3.8 stars Reviewed by Erica

While testing the Shark Steam Pocket Mop S3501 in order to write this review I almost gave up on it because one feature – that really turned out to be a plus – seemed to challenge my generally logical nature.

It was the ability to flip the head from one side to the other that I couldn’t figure out but once I did, I have to say I was fairly impressed; enough so that I’ve since given it to my oldest son to use in his new apartment and he’s been using it for a year now without any issues.

It’s not the ideal choice for everyone but it’s perfect for his small place and the abuse it’s surely taken from him and his two roommates.

This is a stick style steam mop that can only be used for cleaning hard floors. It does not vacuum nor does it clean carpet and you can’t use it to wash vertical surfaces (so no tub walls, windows or mirrors).

It requires no chemicals and runs only on water.

Shark Light & Easy S3101 Steam Mop Review

Rating: 2.0 stars Reviewed by Erica

I decided it was time to get back to business and jumped in to do this Shark Light & Easy S3101 steam mop review. By the time I was done I figured the only favor I was doing for anyone was to – hopefully – save them some time and aggravation.

Its top feature is the low price and it’s stellar online reputation (I have an idea about why it seems as well accepted as it has been) but at the end of this you’ll see how I think you can do far better than this model for just an extra $5.

This is a hard-floor steam cleaner with no other features. You can’t use it to do vertical surfaces and it doesn’t come with a carpet glider. It doesn’t vacuum. It can only be used on hard floor surfaces.

It’s a stick style so, similar to a vacuum, you hold the handle and push it around the floor and let it do its thing. Where it really lives up to its promise is its weight. At only 3 pounds you can easily carry this upstairs and down and around the house as needed.

Haan Multiforce SS20 Steam Mop Review

Haan Multiforce SS20 Steam Mop ReviewRating: 4.7 stars47 Reviewed by Erica
Months ago, I bought the Haan Multiforce SS20 steam mop and have FINALLY finished my review. And you know what? This product made me feel completely unnecessary – in the best way possible!

This is the cheapest model in the company’s Multi-force line up – a set of red and black steam mops that all include one very interesting feature called CR-Motion. The mop head is actually two heads and the motion feature rotates those mop heads for extra scrubbing power without my having to lift a finger.

Of all the different brands and models I’ve reviewed and tested this is my favorite. It costs more but I’ll explain why later and considering it’s remarkable performance on grout I consider it money well spent.

Previously I’d written that you couldn’t find a stick mop that would clean grout. Well, I was wrong. I found one. However, it does need some help when it comes to grout – nothing too tedious or back-breaking, though.

Bissell Steam Mop Select Titanium 94E9T Review

Bissell Steam Mop Select Titanium 94E9T ReviewRating: 4.2 stars42 Reviewed by Erica
The “Titanium” in the name of the Bissell Steam Mop Select Titanium 94E9T refers to the color – but what a great way to catch our attention because it makes us think of something powerful and strong. Fortunately, it’s not misnamed. I’ll give it marks for getting the job done and it’s easy to use.

There are a couple of differences between this and other comparably priced options and I’ll break those out for you in this review so you can make the best buying decision for your own home and your floor cleaning needs.

The 94E9T is a stick steam mop made for cleaning hard floors. It does not work on carpet nor can it be used on vertical surfaces like shower walls and windows.

Swiffer Bissell Steamboost Steam Mop Review

Swiffer Bissell Steamboost Steam Mop ReviewRating: 3.3 stars32 Reviewed by Erica
Two powerful companies teamed up to create the Swiffer Bissell Steamboost steam mop but I think there’s a big misconception floating around about this model and it’s an important point that needs to be understood before you decide whether it’s the right choice for you.

Here’s the issue; I read a ton of reviews where the consumer said they’d never found it “so easy to sanitize their floors”.

Uh-oh – Houston we have a problem. Neither Swiffer nor Bissell make any claims that this mop nor the cleaning solution in the pads will sanitize your floors. Not in the manual, not in their product descriptions, not in their videos, nor anywhere on their sites.

This machine isn’t meant to sanitize and won’t do so the way it’s being used. Its main purpose is to get dirt off the floor and the steam is used only to heat and activate the cleaning solution that is built into the refill pads.

Black & Decker 2 in 1 Steam Mop Review BDH1850SM

Black and Decker 2 in 1 Steam Mop ReviewRating: 3.6 stars35 Reviewed by Erica
It’s more than just performance you need to think about with the Black & Decker BDH1850Sm 2 in 1 steam mop. You should also consider the benefits and drawbacks of having a mop that performs two different functions.

This is the first review I’ve done where the mop includes a hand held steam cleaner built in. Between that and the fact that B&D offers similar versions of this mop without the hand held, my work was cut out for me.

As you’ll see in the section on price there are some options available to you for getting more from this mop and for your money.

The B&D 2 in 1 is an electric mop with digital control settings for three different floor types and a pull-away hand held unit that has its own attachments for cleaning ovens, grout, bathrooms, kitchens, grills, and windows.
