My Brother Walks Off With My Mop
Okay, my brother didn’t REALLY walk off with my Hoover TwinTank steam mop but I think he wanted to. He and his wife and their three girls were here for about a week and a half a few months ago. Our puppy got just a little bit excited when he saw new kids to play with and at one point – as you might expect – he had a little accident.
My brother and his family have a two year old dog and they’re completely familiar with how these things happen but surprised at how calmly I responded. I pulled out my steam mop, cleaned up and we were on to other things in just a few, short minutes.
I got an email from my brother a week after they returned home. “Hey, sis, what was the brand and model of that thing you used to clean your floors?” He’d obviously been impressed. I gave him the info.
Another week or two went by and I got another email:
Steam mop arrived this week. Yay. I finally got time to put it to
work. I was able to vacuum and steam clean the kitchen/eating area, entry
way, and all three bathrooms in one day. Wow. it did a great job. Based
on your review I did steam only (I don’t like sticky floors either).
It was so nice to just fill the water bottle, plug in, and go to town. Our
old method was to mop down the floors and then dry them with a towel. By
the end of this process I really don’t want to do up stairs or do the bathrooms.
This way I was able to clean them all.
It has been a number of weeks, probably a couple of month or more since the
last cleaning. I really don’t like the dirt and spots but dreaded mopping.
Now this is awesome. Yes. I’m a little excited. I should probably go to a
neighbors house and clean theirs too. ok, maybe not. Freaky.
I must be lazy – I never towel dried my floors. I can’t imagine he and his wife were doing that with the busy schedule they lead but I suppose if you have a larger dog who is also wondering around you need to get your floors dried fast before you end up with a trail of wet paw prints.
All I know is he’s thrilled, he’s spending less time on his floors, and it sounds like he might be spending more time at his neighbors’ houses.
